28 February (Puntland Vision)–The Mogadishu’s security responsibility was handed over to Banadir Regional Administration after a day that series of car explosions rocked the capital, which killed more than 20 People and injured 50 Others.
Talking to the media, Abdirahman Mohamud “Tuuryare” the Commander of National Intelligence and Security Agency of Somalia (NISA) said from now on, Banadir regional administration will take the full security responsibility of entire Mogadishu districts.
The commander added that, there has been a gap in the security in Mogadishu, and top security officials realized and the role of Banadir Regional Administration was missing..
The decision comes amidst stressful and chaotic situation in Mogadishu. The decision from NISA Commander seems good in general, but was very quick and emotional.
Such important decisions need strategic thinking and planning, as Banadir Regional Administration are not fully prepared to handle such situation at this moment.
