31 January (Puntland Vision):–When the central government of Somalia collapsed in 1991, many challenges and difficult situations have faced Somali society which apparently hindered their development and way of lives.
So as we fallow, for the past 25 years hundreds of people have died for the results of civil war, terrorism, droughts, famine, diseases, poor hygiene, inadequate health service, and malnutrition. On the other hand, thousands of Somali Youth migrated their country in order to get better & bright future, while great number of them died in between the Indian ocean and sub-Saharan Africa due to starvation, malnutrition.
In Somalia it was estimated that 70% of Somali people are youth, where majority of them are unemployed and uneducated.
Therefore, there is a number of social problems that have hindered the development in our country & including by the fallowing:-
⦁ Insecurity & political instability
⦁ Un employment
⦁ In equality/injustice
⦁ Illegal immigration
⦁ Weak governance
⦁ Poor health
⦁ Economic scarcity
The above mentioned problems have adversely affected the lifestyle and even existence of Somali people. All in all, what ever happened to Somali people, what ever consequence faced by the vulnerable people in Somalia is caused by the conflict among Somali people themselves. Effective conflict resolution mechanism, and reconciliation process between parts in Somalia could be a viable solution for the lasting peace in Somalia.
Other important suggestions on Somalia stability include, getting political stability, quality education, safety and security for common people , alleviate poverty, growth of economic and trade activities etc.
Meanwhile, we have not to ignore the relative development and achievement by Somali Government in restoring the hope of Somali People after almost a quarter century of anarchy and civil war. The worth mentioning achievements include, creation of Federal government and federal member states, rebuilding Somali national forces, restoring foreign diplomatic relations, etc.
So, finally I want to conclude my article by the renowned quote of Malala which was:
