17 April (Puntland Vision)–Puntland President Abdiweli Mohamed Ali “ Gaas” has said Turkey needs to get extensive knowledge about Somalia and how Somali’s Federal system works. Talking to Radio Dalji , President Gaas said he met Turkish Ambassador to Somalia Olgan Bekar and told him Turkish support to Somali people is extremely unbalanced and linear to a particular area .
President Gaas added that Turkish government has had good intension to the needy people in Somalia but they failed to eqaually distribute aid.
“ The humanitarian aid which was wished-for Somalia should be delivered to Somali people, not only particular area” Said President Gaas—“ Turkish government provides training for the army, and provides scholarships to Somali students , but unfortunately Puntland did not get their soldiers trained. Beneficiaries only came from Mogadishu and surrounding areas, may be Bay and Bakool region get very small portion”
President Abdiweli Gaas said, the Turkish government should get fundmental concept about federalism.
Meanwhile he stated that the Turkish Ambassador to Somalia will send assessment team to Puntland, so see the current drought situation in Puntland
